Peer Review

Throughout my 15 weeks in English Comp I believe my peer reviewing skills have changed pretty drastically. When I first began peer reviewing I did not use I, E, O, or L to label my comments. This was something very new to me where as before I just made small comments where I felt they were needed. Using these ideas can sometimes help me as an a peer reviewer as well as an editor when it comes to fixing my own paper. I think I have always been good at identifying small things such as punctuation, word choice, and spelling. I believe that finding errors in someone else’s paper is generally easier to do than finding them in your own. This is why peer editing can be super useful. I think on this particular peer’s paper, I did pretty well on all of these focus areas that we were instructed on. I generally try to keep my comments positive or give constructive criticism to deter my peer from getting discouraged by negative comments.
